Looking for Guest Bloggers!

In the spirit of collaboration and communication, I am looking for guest bloggers to occasionally write a post (or series) about spells, meditations, recipes or projects with a spiritual and/or self improvement bend.  I think this will improve the variety of information on this blog, not to mention bring a greater following and forum for collaboration.  If you are interested, email me at  If you aren't interested in actually writing, but would like to see a post on a particular subject, let me know as well.

Thanks for your interest!

Inviting confidence

The trick to performing an sort of magic is belief and symbolism. Confidence is often borrowed, created and faked. When you need a bit, try one of these easy, fun tricks.

A great pair of shoes
bold lipstick (or lip gloss)
wild panties (your little secret)
red or orange clothing (traditionally, these colors reflect bravery)
wear neroli or jasmine essential oil
wear a piece of jewelry featuring rubies
carry the teiwaz rune in your pocket or the "Strength" tarot card in your purse

Have fun, and remember, convincing yourself is the most important part of making other people believe in your confidence.

The Lost Object Spell

I spent an entire week last spring looking frantically for my driver's license.  It was last seen in the hands of my preschooler.  I took my eyes off of him for a minute and it disappeared; from what I could tell, he hadn't moved from the spot he was playing at, but my license was gone.  At first, I didn't worry too much, figuring it was probably right there, in the book case.  Days went by and frequent, thorough searches of the house turned up nothing.  I was getting irritated, because the DMV is my idea of Hades, and it looked like I would be making an unscheduled trip.

Before I gave up, I tried to visualize my lost  card flying into my hand.  Every day, for four days, I saw myself holding it again.  Each time, I got the strong urge to look in the bookcase I had repeatedly checked.  I glanced in every time I got the message, but didn't see anything.  Sunday night, while looking for something else, I found my driver's license, right in the bookcase I checked over and over again, tucked between the shelf and the wall.

When you are looking for an important lost object, see that object attached to you through a strong cord.  Mentally bring the object to you by reeling in that cord.  If any ideas about where you should look pop into your head, go look there.  You may have to repeat this a few times, but trust your intuition.

May you find what you're looking for!
