A friend on Temple Illumantus sent this to me.  I liked it so much that I created a painting of it for my kitchen, and decided to share it here.  Enjoy!

The Kitchen Witch's Creed

In this pot, I stir to the sun
an' follow the rule of harming none.

Banishment of bane when goin' widdershins;
an' with water and salt negativity is cleansed.

Household duties are more than chores.
Magick abounds when mopping floors.

With this broom, I do sweep
to clean my house and safely keep.

Marigold, Basil, Thyme, and Yarrow
my spell is cast for a better tomorrow.

Lemons for joy and apples for health
the pow'r within brings great wealth.

And, in this kitchen I do pray
To truly walk the Witches' Way

Somewhere between the California coastline and the Continental Divide, I will be at my husband's family event.  I have scheduled some short posts for you all to enjoy, and will return to my (relatively) normal posting schedule August 3.  I am looking forward to writing fro you when I return.

Blessings,

Stagnant energy

Sometimes the energy of life becomes a bit sluggish.  Whatever the cause, the outcome tends to be the same, everything feels, blah.  Luckily, there is an easy fix for this in your home.  Rearrange, toss stuff out, make space.

My mom is a compulsive rearranger.  Her and my brother both tended to clean and rearrange things whenever they were frustrated, much to the amusement of the rest of us, who had to relearn where everything was.  I tend to place things and live with them, but when it comes time for a change, my rearranging tends to be dramatic.  Recently, my husband got a wild hair and changed the entire living room.  It opened up the space, changed the light patterns, and made things feel fresher.

Next time you notice stale energy or a frustrating lack of movement in your life, try rearranging the furniture and decorations.  Open the windows, crank up some happy music, and roll up your sleeves. The new energy may transfer over to other parts of your life, and even if it doesn't the old feels new, making life more interesting.
