House spirits

One of the things I don't like about this new apartment is the lack of faeries.  They didn't travel with us this time, and that makes me sad.  For a time here, there were no faeries of house spirits, not even a flicker of the family ghost (he's not a constant presence, but I had expected to see him when my grandmother died last month). I didn't notice the absence of these beings at first. I've been struggling a bit with my depression and life has been rather busy, so my attention wasn't as focused on magic as it usually is.

Once I realized what was wrong, I decided it was time to plant my garden. Now, I have the occasional glimpse of the Good Neighbors. The energy of our yard, at least, is changing in a positive way. At the same time, I had a frightening glimpse of something less benign the other night. I tried to rationalize it as the trees making shadows, but I still had to close the blinds for a couple of days. This weekend, we're cleaning and organizing. I hope that it will encourage better energy flow and invite my otherworldly friends back into my home.

I also wanted to share a post that a fellow blogger wrote about the time I had my little wake up call.  It's an interesting post about the Northern beings.  My ethnic background is Irish and English, so my experiences and knowledge focus on that tradition, so this was completely new ground for me.
